Deactivated French MAS36 Rifle
This is a nice example of the of a pre-war MAS36 which has the letter J prefix before the serial number, which dates the rifle's production between 1938 to 1939. Production the MAS36 ceased in 1940 when France was occupied by Germany. However after the war, production resumed to 1952. Post-war examples have a two letter year code, where pre-war have a single letter year code. This example has been post-war refurbished and is deactivated to the current EU/UK specification and does not cock or dry fire and comes with its cruciform bayonet. The bolt does open and close. Pre-war MAS36 rifles are extremely rare within the UK market. The majority of existing MAS36 rifles tend to be post-war made. U.K. Sales Only
