British Lanchester SMG. ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )
For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. The Lanchester submachine gun was introduced in 1941 and remained in production to 1945. The designed was influenced from the German MP28 submachine gun which it resembles. There where three marks of the Lanchester. MK1 which had an adjustable tangent rear sight, MK1* had a two aperture rear sight and the MK1** which had a additional bolt safety switch, which was introduced in 1944. This example is a MK1* and would have been produced between 1942 to 1943. The Lanchester where produced by three manufacturers, Sterling Armament Company, W.W. Greener and Boss & Co. It was designed for use with the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. However the majority where used by the Royal Navy to the 1960's. This example was produced by W.W. Greener who's manufacturers code is M/94. It is in very good condition and was sold out of military service as indicated by the two broad arrows facing each other. It also was refurbished in 1953. This example was deactivated before October 1995 and has a full moving action. For Non EU Sales Only. However can be re-deactivated to the current EU specification.
