British No1 Long Lee Rifle ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )

For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. The Long LEE No1 rifle was introduced in November 1895 and saw extensive use during the Boer War and and early WW1. In fact a long number of Long Lee rifles where modified to the No3 SMLE configuration during WW1. A number of Long Lee rifles where also modified in 1907 to charger loading by the addition of a charger bridge .This example is in excellent condition dated 1896 and Enfield made. It has not had the 1907 charger bridge modification. However the butt seems to have had a safety notch added. The brass butt plate has a number of unit markings one of which "1.ST" for 1St Battalion Somerset Light Infantry. This example also retains its original volley sights. For Non EU Sales Only.
