U.S. M1 Carbine ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )

The M1 carbine was introduced in 1941 and was designed to be used by machine gunners , mortar teams, drivers, clerks and other support troops as a personal defence weapon. However the M1 carbine become popular amongst officer's and senior NCO's. Originally the M1 carbines had a two aperture rear sight and no bayonet lug. A new ramp rear sight and bayonet lug for the M4 bayonet was introduced in 1945 with majority of M1 Carbines being retro-fitted with the new modification after 1945. This example has had the 1945 modification. However it is one of the rarer subcontractor's made example. Produced by International Business Machines ( IBM ) who only produced the M1 carbine between August 1943 to May 1944 manufacturing 346,5000 units.
