This is a French M15 helmet which was given to WW1 French army veterans who saw action during the Great War. The brass plate with the inscription "Soldat De La Grande Guerre 1914-1918" ( Solder of the Great War ) has been riveted to the visor. This is a late-war U.S. Navy M1 helmet, which would have been produced between November 1944 to August 1945. Rear seamed manganese rim, and olive drab No7 shade chinstraps.
