This is a 1940 dated M31 water bottle which has the makers code 'MKL" which identifies the maker as "I.G.Faben-Industrie. AG. The plastic cap retains its original rubbber seal. German Gas Mask Canister
This is a tan painted gas mask canister which had been painted twice before in its service life. The original finish was dark green and is visible on the inside of the lid.
