British Anti-Gas Brassard

This is a rare anti-gas brassard which was issued to troops and would change colour if a chemical agent has been used. It would alert troops to take the appropriate action against gas attack. This example is early war with a faint makers stamp and dated March 1940 ( 3/40 ). Late-war examples where olive drab in colour and was also issued to U.S. paratroopers taken part in the D-Day landings ( Operation Overlord ). Anti-Gas brassards are extremely rare as they are made of paper with the majority not serving the war.
