This is an extremely nice example of an armoured fighting crew ( AFV ) helmet which retains its original finish and a unit flash on the side of the shell, in the form of white triangle which appears to have been darkened, if so its it would identify the unit as the 1st Infantry Division. British Despatch Riders Helmet
A 1944 dated despatch riders helmet which is size stamped 7 and has the maker code 'BMB" for Briggs Motor Bodies. The helmet has a been period overpaint olive drab green with visible brush strokes.
