For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. This is a very good example of a 1916 dated No1 MKIII* Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle, more commonly called the SMLE. The MKIII rifle entered service with the British army in 1907 and remained the standard service rifle with the British army to 1941, when it was officially replaced with the No4 rifle. However the MKIII continued to be used by the British army in the Far East to 1945 and the 8th army in the Middle East to 1943. The Indian and Australian armies to continued to use the MKIII in the Post-War years. This example is stamped "DP" for Drill Purpose and was manufactured by Enfield. For Non EU Sales Only.
