The MKIII helmet was first developed by the medical research council in 1941 on behalf of the British army. The MKIII was first worn in combat by Canadian and British troops on D-Day. The MKIII was replaced in 1945 by the MKIV which was identical in shape, but with two minor differences. British Auxiliary Fire Service MKII Helmet
This is a very nice example of a MKII helmet which has been issued to the Auxiliary Fire Service with the letters "AFS" stencilled to the front of the helmet. The shell and liner are both dated 1939. The shell is maker marked "RO&CO" for Rubery Owen & Co, the liner is maker marked "TTC" for Teddy Toy Company and size stamped 7. The crown pad has come away from the helmet but is still present. read more

A nice example of 6x30 binoculars which still have good clear optic and its leather strap. The binoculars are maker marked "Ross London" and also stamped with the War Department broad arrows.
