The M4 bayonet was introduced in May 1944 for use with the M1 carbine. The bayonet was based on the M3 fighting knife. This is an inert M1924 stick grenade, the head of the grenade is dated 1940 with a visible waffenampt. It is also marked with to letter "R" facing opposite each which is the makers code for Richard Rinker GmbH. It retains most of its original finish.
