This is an officers example of the campaign hat, as indicated by the gold and leather hat bands around the crown. The cap cord is buff in colour indicating Quartermaster Corps. The chinstrap and leather headband are missing. However the paper size label 6.7/8, the makers and stock paper labels are still attached. Carrying Frame ( Traggestell M39 )

This is the rare Traggestell M39 carrying frame designed for the 5cm mortar. It allowed the mortar to be carried in a broken down form ( baseplate and mortar tube assembly ). The Traggestell would have also carrying the ammunition tin carrying 10 mortar rounds. This example is in semi-relic condition and missing all of its webbing straps. read more
