British MKIV L2A3 Sterling Submachine Gun ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )

For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. The MKIV L2A3 Sterling submachine gun was originally developed in the 1940's by George Patchett who was working for Sterling Engineering Company. The prototypes where field tested in 1944-45. The weapon was officially called Sterling submachine gun. However they where more commonly referred to as the Patchett after its designer. Due to the large number of Stens in the British army inventory after the war, there was little interest in introducing a better and newer SMG and the design was shelved. However by 1951, the army wanted a better submachine gun and Sterling developed the original Patchett design resulting in the MKIV L2A3 SMG which officially entered service with the British and Canadian forces in 1953. This example is in very good condition dated 1965 and comes with a 1959 dated magazine. It does not cock or dry fire but does have a moving cocking handle and trigger. For Non EU Sales Only.
