The German Cross in gold was introduced on 28th April 1941 and was to recognise the bravey of individual servicemen above which was required for the bestowal of the Iron Cross 1st Class but not up to the Knight's Cross. This is a unmarked cased white enamelled order of the Silesian Eagle 1st class.Which is a Freikorps award for the participation in the defence of Silesia along its border with the newly formed Polish state of 1919.
