South Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with Unit Citation Ribbon Bar

This South Vietnamese award is known as the Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm and was created on 20th January 1968. It was awarded to military units that had distinguished themselves. The Gallantry Cross was authorisized by the U.S.Navy and Marine Corps who served in Vietnam between 8 February 1962 to 28th March 1973 and was awarded the Gallantry Cross could wear the award.  read more

This is the army version of the Good Conduct Medal, which was awarded for three consecutive years of honourable and faithful service. After three years a clasp with a barb was awarded. This example has a clasp with three barbs which means the soldier had served six years honourable and faithful service.
