This is in fact original WW2 era front seemed swivel bale M1 helmet which was manufactured between October 1943 to November 1944. The heat stamp is visible on the inside of the shell. The Helmet has been repainted by a re-enactor and has added the insignia of the Amphibious Engineer Special Bridge (ESB), who's job on D-Day 6th June, Operation Overlord was to clear mines, obstacles, such as barbed wire and tank traps from the landing beeches. The helmets chinstrap is a reproduction. The liner is original WW2 and is the missing neck band and its attachment straps. It has also been repainted on the outside. The liner has the makers letter code MSA, which identifies the maker as Mine Safety Appliances Company.
