The South Saskatchewan Regiment was formed in 1936 by the amalgamation of the Weyburn the Saskatchewan Border regiments. During WW2 the regiment participated in many Canadian battles and operations as part of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division including the 1942 Dieppe raid.
