Inert British Piat Rocket
This is a unique inert one of a kind Piat rocket which has an interesting history. This particular example was picked up by Private Ross of the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment during the filming of "Theirs is the Glory", which was produced in 1945 and released on 15th August 1946. The film was directed by. Brian Hurst and was very unique production in many respects. It was filmed on the war-torn sites of the actual battle, using only actual participants in the battle as actors. It was jointly filmed by the Rank organisation and the British Army's film and Photographic unit. Some of the cast members hand only been recently released from German Prisoner of War camps. The rocket is in very good condition retaining all of its original finish and is dated January 1944. It was probably dropped during the battle or used as a prop during the filming of the production. The Piat rocket was sourced from a private collection. U.K Sales Only.
