This is a third pattern line for the r M1 helmet produced by Capac Manufacturing Company. However this example has the formation badge in the form of the Letter D within a triangle which is the symbol used by the 39th Infantry Division which formed in 1917, disbanded in 1923 and reformed in 1946.
